Assignment – Data Engineer with Expertise in GCP, DevOps, and Data Mesh Architecture

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Data Engineer to play a central role in designing, delivering, and maintaining scalable data products in a modern cloud-native environment. This assignment places you at the heart of a cross-functional team working end-to-end on data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a strong focus on automation, infrastructure-as-code, and data mesh principles.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Product Development & Lifecycle Management

• Design, build, and maintain high-performing data products aligned with architectural and business goals

• Ensure non-functional requirements such as security, observability, scalability, and performance are embedded from the start

• Manage the full lifecycle of data products from discovery and development through monitoring and maintenance

✅ Infrastructure & DevOps

• Set up and operate robust CI/CD pipelines and maintain infrastructure using Terraform or equivalent tools

• Operate and optimize core GCP services including BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc

• Proactively ensure the reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of data pipelines and infrastructure

✅ Collaboration & Strategic Alignment

• Work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and development teams to translate ideas into actionable data solutions

• Contribute to the implementation of data mesh concepts across teams and domains

• Provide technical guidance and drive consistency across internal and external collaborators

✅ Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Monitor system health, reduce technical debt, and improve operational efficiency

• Stay informed on trends in cloud data engineering, analytics, DevOps, and automation

• Advocate for clean, maintainable, and future-proof data architecture

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer working in Google Cloud Platform

• Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and DBT

• Proficiency with data formats such as Avro and Parquet

• Strong SQL skills and experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)

• Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases

• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Knowledge of Apache Beam, Spark, Hive, or Flink

• Experience in the retail domain or with data visualization tools

• Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming architectures
