Assignment Description

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for an upcoming assignment in Stockholm.

Role Overview

As a senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing advanced AI/ML solutions. Your work will include developing AI/ML software products, exploring and processing large datasets, performing feature engineering, building and maintaining data pipelines, testing and evaluating model outputs, deploying solutions into production, and scaling them to ensure stability and maintainability.

You will also be responsible for designing and maintaining large-scale data infrastructures to support AI/ML projects. Leveraging strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns, you will contribute to architectural decisions, technical roadmaps, and documentation while ensuring code quality and scalability.

This role also involves developing reusable components and frameworks for AI/ML projects, including solutions for model traceability, monitoring, A/B testing, versioning, release management, and serving both real-time and batch inference endpoints. You will work within a cross-functional agile team of engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to help build and expand the organization’s AI ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML products and solutions, including data exploration, feature engineering, and model evaluation.

• Build and maintain ML and data pipelines to support large-scale AI initiatives.

• Design scalable, maintainable, and future-proof software solutions, ensuring product quality, cybersecurity, and performance.

• Implement best practices in software engineering, DevOps, testing, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) for ML/AI projects.

• Create frameworks for feature reuse, model monitoring, versioning, and deployment of both online and batch inference.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and break down work into actionable tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar senior role.

• Strong background in Python (4+ years), including backend development and production-grade ML solutions.

• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Vertex AI.

• Solid experience with MLOps practices, including developing ML pipelines, deploying applications to production, and maintaining high data quality.

• Proven experience in designing and scaling software products in larger organizations.

• Familiarity with modern programming languages, SQL, DBT, and cloud data storage technologies.

• Understanding of AI/ML frameworks, data science fundamentals, and high-volume data processing (batch and streaming).

• Ability to work in an agile, cross-functional environment and drive technical discussions and design solutions.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications

• GCP Professional Machine Learning Engineer certification is required.

• End Date: 28 February 2026

• Location: Stockholm, Sweden (on-site presence required as agreed)
